Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants’ debuts a modern Japanese-inspired restaurant, the first of two dining options at the new hotel in downtown Chicago

Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is excited to announce that Miru (401 E. Wacker Dr., 11th Fl.) at the new St. Regis Chicago is now open. The restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner with weekend brunch, carryout and delivery service to follow. Miru, which means view in Japanese, is a modern Japanese restaurant that boasts iconic views of Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, and the Chicago River from its dining room and expansive outdoor terraces. Miru is the first of two restaurants from Lettuce Entertain You to open at The St. Regis Chicago.

Reservations for Miru are now live and can be made via OpenTable.

The Menu:
The menu at Miru is a collaboration between Chef/Partner Hisanobu Osaka (formerly Morimoto, Daniel), Naoki Nakashima (formerly of Naoki Sushi) and Executive Chef Helmy Saadon (formerly of Mila, Zuma). The menu celebrates the flavors and cuisine of Japan. A collection of shareable dishes include warm and cold selections such as Hamachi & Ponzu with white ponzu and lemon and Spicy Bluefin Tuna Crispy Rice. Signature dishes include Crispy Whole Snapper with herb salad and ginger miso and Miyazaki A5 Wagyu Zabuton, shishito peppers, Miru steak sauce.  Miru’s dining room also features a 12-seat sushi bar. The sushi menu also offers sashimi, nigiri, and maki with signatures like Triple Tuna Chutoro with otoro, akami and garlic crunch, and Deluxe California, Caviar, King Crab, avocado and cucumber. The pastry program is led by Executive Pastry Chef Juan Gutierrez, winner of Netflix’s School of Chocolate, with the dessert menu including items like the Black Sesame Mochi with charcoal-vanilla ice cream and black sesame praline.

Breakfast is served daily and offers continental dishes in addition to the restaurant’s take on traditional Japanese breakfast including The Tokyo Breakfast with grilled umami King salmon, dashi tamago, rice and miso soup. The weekday lunch menu at Miru offers restaurant signatures, salads, and sushi in addition to lunch specials like the Tokyo Lunch which includes a choice of protein with a side of miso soup, rice and Japanese pickles. In addition to the restaurant, The Coffee Bar on Eleven is open daily, serving handmade pastries, fresh fruits, a variety of coffee drinks and organic Rishi tea. Guests can also enjoy an abbreviated bar menu in the bar and lounge from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. To view the menus at Miru, click here.

The Drinks:
The beverage program at Miru is led by Beverage Director Diane Cocoran (previously of RPM Italian and Three Dots and a Dash) and includes a menu of seasonal, Japanese-inspired cocktails and classic cocktails made with premium local spirits, plus non-alcoholic drinks. Miru offers an expansive sake program curated by Sake Specialist / Sommelier, DeAnn Wong (previously of Momotaro) which features more than 40 selections, and a wine list from Wine Director Kat Hawkins (previously of RPM Steak and Shaw’s Crab House). Available throughout the hotel, the St. Regis brand’s signature libation is the bloody mary. Exclusive to the Chicago location and created by Diane, The 1871 is served in a smoking glass, paying tribute to one of the most impactful events in the city’s history, The Great Chicago Fire and features a local Rye Whiskey from FEW Spirits, house-made bloody mary mix, fresh dill and a rim of smoked salt.

An afternoon tea service is coming soon, which will be available Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the Drawing Room and Library. A signature of the St. Regis brand, the afternoon tea service will include hand-selected Rishi loose-leaf teas. The menu showcases a delightful assortment of savory and sweet bites with Japanese influence as well as house-made pastries and an entremet cart.

The Space:
Designed by globally renowned architecture and design firm Rockwell Group, Miru features two stunning riverfront terraces and a sequence of dining, bar, and lounge spaces. The restaurant’s position at the convergence of two bodies of water provides an opportunity for a design that is residentially-minded in scale and oriented toward the lakeside in its approach. Grounded in Chicago Modernism, the serene space embraces curvilinear elements inspired by the sinuous form of The St. Regis Chicago tower itself and water views.  A warm, neutral palette with richly textured materials and pops of color dominate the dining and lounge spaces, which seat 280 guests indoors and 180 on the north- and east-facing terraces. The restaurant also boasts a 12-seat Fantastico Arni marble sushi bar in the dining room.

Miru has several private and semi-private event spaces both indoors and al fresco available for groups of 10 – 300 guests. The refined decor of the Library and Drawing Room offers a space for a private reception or afternoon tea of up to 65 guests reception-style. For more information about private parties, contact miruevents@leye.com.

Miru is located in The St. Regis Chicago at 401 E. Wacker Dr. on the 11th Fl. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and is open Sunday – Thursday from 7:00 AM – 9:30 PM, Friday and Saturday from 7:00 AM – 10:30 PM.  Reservations are available via OpenTable or by calling 312-725-7811. Weekend brunch and carryout and delivery service will follow. For more information please visit www.mirurestaurant.com or follow us on Facebook and Instagram at @mirurestaurant.

Coming Soon: Tre Dita
Lettuce Entertain You will debut its second restaurant, Tre Dita on the second floor of the St. Regis Chicago this fall. The Tuscan Steakhouse is in collaboration with award-winning Chef Evan Funke (Funke in Beverly Hills, Mother Wolf in Hollywood, and Felix in Venice). Tre Dita, Italian for ‘three fingers,’ is a nod to the thickness of a properly cut bistecca Fiorentina that the restaurant will be serving from its open-hearth wood fired grill. The restaurant, Chef Funke’s first outside of Los Angeles, will also feature a temperature and humidity controlled pasta laboratorio, connecting guests to the pasta maker. The space will be designed by David Collins Studio. More details coming soon.
