“We aim to make every visit to The Oakville and The Cellar Door feel like you are stepping into a wine tasting room at a California winery, right here in Chicago,” says The Oakville General Manager Nathan Steen. “We were thrilled for the opportunity to help Marc Nolan bring their vision of Napa Valley to life and to introduce their fans to what we do in a fun and creative way. Marc Nolan CEO Sebastian Malczewski tapped The Oakville, a neighbor of his brand’s West Loop flagship store, as the setting for the collection’s launch event, during which guests sipped wines thoughtfully “paired” with men’s and women’s styles from the new collection, selected and poured by Sommelier Sutton McElroy.
“The Marc Nolan store is just a few blocks from The Oakville, and its laidback California menu and aesthetic made it the ideal venue for the launch of the ‘Made to Love’ collection,” says Malczewski. “This collection is a celebration of presence—of savoring the moment—and The Oakville evokes that feeling effortlessly.”
The Perfect Pair: Men’s Boardwalk Hunter Green/Cream Suede Horse-Bit Loafers + Marine Layer – Carina: Rosé – California, 2022
The Oakville’s Sutton McElroy calls this pairing, “The epitome of effortless sophistication—light, stylish, and made for warm, leisurely days. Alongside the wines, event guests indulged in other cocktails and delicious paired bites from The Oakville’s California-inspired menu, such as Truffle Grilled Cheese, Ricotta & Honey Crostini and Citrus Cured Salmon, as the Marc Nolan team served up some serious shoe style.
