Spotted: ‘The Bear’ Stars at Lettuce Restaurants in Chicago
As the final season premieres, we look back at the cast's fave spots to dine
Season 5 of FX’s The Bear is finally here (airing June 25 on Hulu), and as we prepare to say farewell to the beloved Chicago-set series, it’s the perfect time to revisit where the stars of the hit show have spent their time dining when they’re off the clock. From cast dinners to behind-the-scenes bites around town, here’s a look at the Lettuce restaurants The Bear cast has enjoyed over the years.
Shaw’s Crab House
Shaw’s Crab House has been the #1 favorite of the entire cast throughout it’s five-season run, with nearly every character spending time in the iconic 40-year-old seafood stalwart. Chef-turned-actor Matty Matheson even shouted out Shaw’s on Late Night with Seth Meyers, sharing that his son declared the Classic Cheeseburger a “10 out of 10.” Lionel Boyce praised the Buffalo Shrimp in GQ, saying he often stops in midday just to get it. We can’t argue with that.

Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab
Shaw’s also teamed up with Jeremy Allen White and another cast favorite, Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak, & Stone Crab, to bring their experience to set during production one day, serving a selection of signature dishes, such as Florida Stone Crab and Oysters on the Half Shell. The Bear team have been known to stop into Joe’s after long days of filming, and “Carmy” even left a thank-you note for keeping everyone going through five seasons of filming in the city.

Sushi-san
The catering team at Sushi-san – River North sprang into action to fuel the cast of The Bear throughout season 5 filming from day one, routinely delivering signature sushi and Japanese dishes in personalized bags for Ayo Edebiri, Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Matty Matheson, and more.

The Oakville Grill & Cellar
Corey Hendrix got to channel his character “Sweeps” off-screen during a visit to The Oakville Grill & Cellar. The actor, who plays The Bear‘s house sommelier, put his wine knowledge to use alongside The Oakville Wine Director Grant Barnow, exploring the restaurant’s extensive wine selection at The Cellar Door. Cheers to that!

Tre Dita
Corey Hendrix found time between wine tastings IRL and on-screen to enjoy a meal at Tre Dita at The St. Regis Chicago, where he paired Italian pours with Chef Evan Funke’s hand-made pasta and Tuscan-inspired menu. Talk about a Frequent Diner!

RPM Seafood
RPM Seafood played host to a very star-studded dinner while Season 4 of The Bear was filming. The entire cast gathered to celebrate Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s birthday and try classic dishes the Grand Seafood Tower, Wild Alaskan Halibut, and the Banana Cream Napoleon, with Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Abby Elliott and more in attendance. Along with Shaw’s, if there was another place to spot Chicago’s favorite kitchen off the clock, this was it.

Crying Tiger
Sarah Ramos, who plays cool-as-a-cucumber expediter Jess, recently dined at Crying Tiger, one of Lettuce’s buzziest new additions in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. She popped in to experience Chef Partner Thai Dang’s bold Southeast Asian-inspired menu, which features items like Prawn Toast, Clay Pot Lobster Pad Thai, and the viral Crying Tiger dessert.
